Fractora

NYC plastic surgeon offers Fractora and other skin rejuvenation treatments at his private office on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

Fractora is a fractional skin resurfacing system that delivers radio-frequency waves through small pins which stimulate collagen growth and improve the overall appearance of the skin. Fractora is approved for a broad range of cosmetic concerns from fine lines, to pigment irregularities. It is touted as a versatile treatment that provides both non-ablative and minimally ablative options for the treatment of various signs of aging skin. The technology provided by the Fractora may be used for rejuvenation of the entire face including upper and lower eyelids, as well as lines around the cheeks, mouth, and neck.

Planning your Fractora treatment in New York City

The best candidates for Fractora skin resurfacing treatment, including Fractora Firm, are patients in reasonably good health that would like to minimize the appearance of minor skin flaws or turn back the clock on their complexion.

Common concerns addressed by Fractora skin rejuvenation include:

  • Fine lines
  • Deep wrinkles
  • Loose skin on the jaw and neck
  • Shallow acne scars
  • Pigment irregularities
  • Redness

During your private consultation at his Upper East Side office suite, New York City plastic surgeon Dr. Loeb will review the benefits of the Fractora fractional rejuvenation while at the same time ensuring that you maintain realistic expectations about the outcome. While this procedure will offer immediate and long-term benefits, results may not be as dramatic as more invasive treatments, such as dermabrasion or traditional chemical peels.  At the same time, before and after photos of the treatment are compelling. Dr. Loeb can help you determine whether Fractora will offer you your desired result. He may also offer alternative skin rejuvenation options or supplemental procedures that can enhance a more youthful appearance.

Procedure

Fractora fractional rejuvenation and resurfacing offers optimal results with minimal preparation and little downtime. Dr. Loeb places a small device against the skin to administer radio-frequency heat to the treatment area. Energy is transmitted through a series of tiny pins, allowing the RF heat to penetrate the skin’s surface for more long-lasting results. Skin touched directly by the pins is immediately ablated, while surrounding, untreated skin speeds the healing of the ablated tissue. Faster healing means shorter recovery times for patients after the procedure is complete.  Total healing time depends on the size and scale of the treatment.

Recovery

Most patients return to normal activities within just a day or two of having the procedure. Dr. Loeb will advise you to wear sunscreen at all times, since the skin is more vulnerable to sun damage after treatment. He may also recommend an anti-fungal cream. You should not apply make-up immediately after having Fractora, however you may resume wearing makeup by the second day. The full results of your first treatment should emerge within two weeks.  Dr. Loeb usually recommends between one and four Fractora treatments to achieve the desired end result.

Related procedures in NYC

Dr. Loeb may offer additional treatments to be conducted simultaneously with your Fractora skin rejuvenation or as a supplemental measure between treatments.  Other non-surgical facial treatments include injectables such as Botox and Restylane. If you desire a more dramatic result, he will also review other options such as dermabrasion, chemical peel, or even a face or brow lift.

Dr. Loeb is available to answer all of your questions about Fractora and other facial skin treatment options.
