Summer time means strapless dresses, swimsuits and barely there makeup – in other words, this is the one season when you want to look your absolute best. How do busy moms find time for some much needed self-care before bikini season arrives? Minimally invasive cosmetic surgery to the rescue!

Minimally invasive procedures are so popular because there’s virtually zero downtime, enabling you to zip into your surgeon’s office during a lunch break and leave 45 minutes later with fewer wrinkles, a fresh, dewy complexion and a slimmer waistline.  The following five treatments are some of the most requested non-surgical quick fixes offered by NYC plastic surgeon, Dr. Thomas Loeb.

Plastic surgery treatments for summer

Whether you’re 35 or 55, it’s totally natural to want to look as youthful and vibrant as you feel inside. Fortunately, there are several anti-ageing and body contouring options that don’t involve scalpels, sutures or hospital time.

Injectables – a 25 minute quick fix

One of the most popular ways to prep your skin for going bare this summer is with injectable treatments. From dermal fillers to Botox, these procedures are a safe and easy way to kiss your wrinkles goodbye and restore facial volume. In 2015, an estimated 6 million people got Botox injections to smooth out lines and furrows around the mouth, eyes and forehead. This lunch-hour treatment is great for turning back the clock, and only needs to be repeated every 4-5 months.

Whether you want to plump up your lips or subtly fill in laugh lines, Juvederm delivers natural and beautiful results. These days, you can choose from a number of fillers made of hyaluronic acid, which provides a more youthful appearance. Depending on the type and quantity used, fillers can last upwards of 16 months.

Non-ablative laser resurfacing

Non-ablative lasers like Fraxel can work wonders on sun-damaged skin. Besides eliminating hyperpigmentation and red vascular marks, the treatment stimulates collagen production and can improve skin texture tremendously. The procedure only lasts 30 minutes, and the recovery time is minimal. Patients are encouraged to have this treatment at least one month before they plan on hitting the beach and always use a high SPF sunscreen.

Ultherapy skin tightening

Looking a little jowly these days? Ultherapy is an excellent way to tighten, lift and tone loose skin around the brow, jaw line and chin area. The treatment was also recently FDA approved to improve the appearance of lines on the décolletage – perfect for that low cut bikini top! The treatment uses ultrasound energy to stimulate the body’s regeneration process, and as new collagen forms, patients will see their skin lift and become firmer. While an immediate tightening effect is noted, the results will continue to improve over a period of 2-3 months.

Smart Lipo

Smart Lipo is a quick and painless way to get rid of those pesky few pounds that won’t seem to leave your stomach, no matter how hard you hit the gym. Healing times are much faster with Smart Lipo because there is less blood loss, inflammation and bruising. The one-hour procedure can target unwanted fat around the love handles, hips, thighs, lower back, arms and/or bra line area.

IPL laser

Photorejuvenation with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) lasers have been a mainstay for both women and men who want to get rid of fine lines, age spots, broken blood vessels and other skin imperfections in time for beach season. The procedure lasts 20-30 minutes and is generally performed in a series of 3-5 sessions. While not technically a “quick fix,” the stunning results, clear skin and glowing complexion are worth it.
