Can you feel lip fillers when kissing?

Thomas Loeb | December 10, 2019 | Posted in lip fillers

Lips are the focal point of the face and often draw attention during countless everyday moments. Sipping wine, talking, eating dinner, and kissing can all accentuate your pucker, and adding a little plump to your pout can help you feel more sexy, confident, and comfortable.

Lip enhancements can be done using a variety of techniques

Lip fillers change the look of them in terms of volume, shape, symmetry, or proportions. If you’re considering filling your lips, you want something that looks natural, feels natural and boosts your confidence.

Before we get to the results, let’s first talk about the basics of lip fillers.

Which lip filler is right for me?

After an initial consultation with a medical professional or cosmetic surgeon, you will decide on your goals and develop a customized look to suit your anatomy. Since lip enhancements can be done using a variety of techniques, your doctor will discuss the available options with you.

Most practitioners now use collagen or hyaluronic acid-based lip fillers, which is then injected into the lip to increase volume and size. Collagen is used purely to plump the lip. Hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body, also traps water within lips for a more natural look and feel. It can be found in Restylane Lyft and Juvéderm UltraPlus treatments, and usually last around four to eight months, depending on your metabolism.

Yet for those who are not satisfied with repeated injections, PermaLip provides an option for a permanent implant. Made from soft, firm silicone, it is inserted through two tiny incisions on the corners of the mouth and is designed to look and feel very natural. It requires no maintenance and is done in as little as 30 minutes.

What about recovery?

Once you’ve received injections, or undergone a minor surgical procedure, your lips will be tender and sore, and in some cases, swollen or bruised. The length and intensity of this will vary from person to person. After a few days or weeks, depending on the treatment, most people are enjoying their improved lips.

Most doctors recommend that you stay away from pain relievers, alcohol, and other types of blood thinners to help prevent bruising.  Doctors also recommend not smoking for a few days following the procedure to prevent misalignment, and to steer clear of sucking on straws.

Kiss and tell?

For many, kissing with improved lips can heighten the experience for both partners, without being noticeably different in terms of physical feeling. Because of the progress and quality of the lip filler materials, it’s hard for most people to tell that any work has been done.

In fact, most people report their enhanced lips still retain a natural softness and texture, and they enjoy full sensation during intimate moments with their significant other.
